Mystics, Mercury Game Preview

In their first of three meetings this season, the Phoenix Mercury will host the Washington Mystics tonight at 10 p.m. ET, in Talking Stick Resort Arena.

The Mercury who are 7-6 overall this season, have been playing a bit inconsistent lately, alternating their last seven games with wins and losses. With a 3-4 home record, the Mercury have their work cut out for them if they want a win over the third ranked Mystics. Powerhouse, Brittney Griner, leads both the league and Phoenix with 21.8 ppg. Griner also leads her team in rebounds with 7.7 rpg. Guard Diana Taurasi, the league’s career leader in points and 3-point field goals, is also averaging 18.6 ppg for the Mercury.

Washington, who is coming off a tough loss against the defending champs, the Los Angeles Sparks, are currently 10-6 on the season. Led by forward Elena Delle Donne, who averages 19.6 ppg and 6.7 rpg, the Mystics are looking to improve to 4-4 on the road.
