Liberty, Lynx Game Preview

After an eventful All-Star break that saw Maya Moore of the Minnesota Lynx named All-Star MVP for the second time and a 130-121 victory for the West All-Stars, the second half of the 2017 WNBA season will begin Tuesday, July 25, with all 12 teams back in action.

The Lynx (16-2) who had three of their own featured in Saturday’s All-Star Game, are hoping to continue their three game winning streak as they host the New York Liberty (10-9) at home. In Saturday’s game, Moore led the West with 23 points, while Sylvia Fowles and Seimone Augustus added 8 and 4, respectively. New York who has been on a streak as well winning two straight, are also looking to have some success as they embark on a five-game road trip taking them to Minnesota, Indiana, Illinois, Texas, and then California. With a challenging road ahead, the Liberty will be led by 5x-All-Star Tina Charles, who put up a whopping 28 points and 17 rebounds in their most recent win over Connecticut. Sugar Rodgers, who competed in the WNBA All-Star 3-Point Contest, also represented the Liberty appearing in her first All-Star game as a replacement for the injured Elena Delle Donne, where she scored 10 points for the East.
