The Chicago Sky (8-14) hope to avoid a season series sweep by Phoenix (11-10) as they host the Mercury in Allstate Arena, tonight at 8:30 p.m. ET.
The Mercury have struggled since Brittney Griner, the league’s leading scorer, went down with injury. Phoenix has dropped four straight games, including Tuesday’s overtime loss to Atlanta 99-91. In Griner’s absence, the entire Mercury squad will have to step up in order to get back on track, starting with a win tonight. Diana Taurasi led Phoenix with 31 points on Tuesday, while Danielle Robinson and Leilani Mitchell each tallied 11.
The Sky have been in a groove, winning five of their last seven games, despite falling on Tuesday, to Connecticut. Chicago who recently announced the teams return to Chicago to play at Wintrust Arena starting in 2018, was led by guard Allie Quigley with 20 points in the loss. Keisha Hampton and Jessica Breland also added 12 a piece.
