Fever, Liberty Game Preview

With the long road trip behind them, the New York Liberty (12-12) return to Madison Square Garden to take on the Indiana Fever (9-17) tonight at 7:00 p.m. ET.

New York who hasn’t seen their home floor since July 19, went 2-3 on their recent five-game road trip as they approach the final 10 games of the regular season. The Liberty have had a challenging schedule this year, but continue to stay positive down the stretch. In Friday’s 87-74 loss to Los Angeles, Bria Hartley paced New York with 16 points. Tina Charles finished with 10.

The last time New York saw Indiana (July 28), they were able to hold on for the 85-84 win. However, Indiana is coming into tonight’s match-up with a wave of confidence after knocking off the No.1 Minnesota Lynx in a thrilling 84-82 victory. Candice Dupree led Indiana with 31 points and 9 rebounds to put an end to the team’s five-game losing streak. Forward Erlana Larkins sealed the Sunday night victory with a put back bucket finishing with 7, while Briann January added 14 points and 6 assists. Looking to carry that momentum to New York, the Fever will try to even out this season series 1-1.
