Memphis, Tenn., — LeMoyne-Owen (LOC) came up short in Saturday’s conference opener, falling 87-67, to Benedict College (BC). Box score.

The Magicians ((2-3), (0-1)) trailed 43-32 at the half, and managed to cut the Tigers’ lead to 50-45 with 15:29 left in the contest, but BC would go on a run to extend their lead and not look back. Reshun Ellis finished with 32 points on the evening, while Aston Morton and Jaquan Lawrence added 10 apiece for the Magicians.
LOC returns to the floor Monday, Nov. 27, in another SIAC contest against Claflin University (CLAF). The Panthers ((4-1), (1-0)) are on a three game win streak having defeated Lane College 63-57. Claflin’s Jaleel Charles, leads the Panthers with 16.2 ppg.
Tip-off is scheduled for 7:30 PM CT at LOC (Bruce/Johnson Hall) right after the women’s game.
