Magicians Host Harding, Look to End 5-Game Drought

Memphis, Tenn., — After a hot shooting start to put the LeMoyne-Owen College (LOC) Magicians up 29-9 in the first half (13:21), conference opponent Central State University (CSU) came away with the win on Saturday, 90-84.

With a tough road loss, LeMoyne-Owen falls to 2-6 overall and 0-4 in conference play. The Magicians forced 17 CSU turnovers, shot 48% from the field (34-71) and 40% from beyond the arc (10-25). SIAC scoring leader Reshun Ellis, poured in 32 points in the first half after hitting his first six three-point attempts. CSU would battle back going on a 17-2 run to tie the game 49-all to end the half. The Marauders were led by Chris Scott with 28 points and 13 rebounds. Aston Morton (13pts/7rebs/6a), Jaequan Brown (12pts/5rebs/3stl), and Jaquan Lawrence (11pts/6rebs/5blk) would also finish in double figures alongside Ellis for LeMoyne. Box scores.

Returning to Jerry C. Johnson Court in an effort to ditch their five-game losing streak, the Magicians host the Bisons of Harding University (HU), who will be in search of their first win on the young season. The Bisons (0-5, 0-4) are members of the Great American Conference (GAC), and are coming off a 1-point loss to Southwestern Oklahoma, 71-70. HU is led by senior guard Tim Wagner, with 12.8 ppg and sophomore forward Adam Horn (10.8 ppg, 6.8 rpg).

Tip-off is set for 7:30 PM on Tuesday, Dec. 5th at Bruce/Johnson Hall.
