Lafayette, Ind., — Six teams began, now only four remain as the 2018 Class 4A Sectional 7 heats up at Lafayette Jeff. After the Kokomo Wildcats and host Jefferson Bronchos squared off in the opening round of the 2018 IHSAA Lafayette Jefferson Basketball Tournament, it was Lafayette Jeff who came out on top, 50-39.

G1: Lafayette Jefferson 50, Kokomo 39
G2: Zionsville 52, Logansport 43
With the win, Jefferson advances to play defending sectional champions: the McCutcheon Mavericks, in Game 1 on Friday, March 2. The Zionsville Eagles will also advance after holding off Logansport for the 52-43 win. The Eagles take on the Harrison Raiders in Game 2 on Friday.

Shawn Harmon, Andrew Bowes, and Royce King will be your crew of officials for Friday’s game between the Harrison Raiders and Zionsville Eagles.
Harrison enters Friday’s semi-finals with an overall record of 14-8. Guided by Head Coach Mike Rinehart, the Raiders won their last match-up of the regular season against Hamilton Heights, 89-76 where six players finished in double-digit scoring. Led by their seniors Benito Munoz (18pts), Austin Dunwoody (17pts), Calvin Walters (13pts), Bobby Dearing (12pts), and Alex Bauer (11pts) Harrison posted a 33-point quarter in the third over the Huskies. The Raiders look to bring their effort and energy to Friday’s battle against Zionsville.
The Eagles who came out of Tuesday’s opening round over Logansport, defeated the Berries in overtime for the 52-43 victory. Isaiah Thompson led Zionsville with 16 points and senior Mark Stemme added 14, including going 4 of 5 from 3-point range. Zionsville enters Friday’s match-up with a 20-3 overall record. The Eagles are led by Head Coach Shaun Busick.
