Lynx Hand Fever 87-65 Loss

Indianapolis, Ind., – The Minnesota Lynx came to Bankers Life Fieldhouse ready to work. In their Wednesday afternoon matchup against the Indiana Fever, Minnesota dropped bucket after bucket to come out on top, 87-65.

Sylvia Fowles led the Lynx to victory with a double-double on 8 of 10 shooting for 20 points. She also grabbed 10 boards as the reigning MVP gave Minnesota several second chance points down the stretch. Teammate Maya Moore was just shy of matching that stat line as she finished with 19 points and nine rebounds.

Both the Indiana Fever and the Minnesota Lynx did a much better job of shooting compared to their last games. The Fever shot 41 percent from the field, while the Lynx shot 52 percent. However, Indiana fell into their old ways of having to play from behind trailing 44-33 at the half. Kelsey Mitchell had the hot hand from behind the arc knocking down three of her five 3-point attempts. But Minnesota’s Danielle Robinson would hit two of her own throughout the course of the game as the Lynx pressed on to the finish.

Fever guard Erica Wheeler had a big second half giving Indiana an energy boost on both ends of the floor. To end the third, Wheeler would find a cutting Erica McCall for the easy bucket at the buzzer. Wheeler would tally 12 points, six rebounds, and five assists to lead Indiana. Kelsey Mitchell added 11 points and Natalie Achonwa would finish with 10 points.
